Lyrics to Alpha to Omega
An inquisition from all:
?Who or what was first??
A sudden burst of black
that never could be searched?
A flash of light, of afterglow,
casts twisting light as white as snow.
Dust could gather, or mix if they'd rather,
and the illumination flows.
Forever in its spiral
of dust and gas galore
Gravity's existence is
proven, but what for?
Perhaps to resurrect
this scene that's so rehearsed.
The perfect blend of everything
which gravity coerced.
A gleam of faultless light
ignites the orbs above,
as sweltering as magma,
and as weightless as a dove.
And the sunlight shines
within the eye of God
when an insect bares its children.
A simplistic façade.
It veils it's intelligence
to build a world to see.
It would span such a cycle
that would last endlessly.
For, from that bug would spew
Millions at its touch,
where birds would feast from them
and grow their own, as such.
When the sun would shed its tears
upon the barren earth,
to bring a single vine
that would enshroud the world's girth.
That aforementioned cycle
would bring into play
millions of humans
growing more by the day
And from a solo seed
would sprout a thousand more
and leave civilization
at the step of our doors.
Cities and towns,
where problems would arise
with no real solution
for pollution in the skies.
When oceans split apart
to disconnect us all
which may have been to help,
but greatly brought our fall.
And the gunshots rang,
?Music to our ears.?
Though death was our destiny,
it was burned into our fears.
For differences unknown
to one another's kind.
The dissonance of bullets
blasting morality blind.
So when descendants pass
by their ancestors graves
glancing at the horror
and the messes they had made.
From conflicts arisen,
but never truly solved.
Was it force of mankind?
Or the earth they had dissolved?
That the bug's first try
simply went awry
at the fault of humanity
or so nature had implied.
As we thawed out the glaciers
and the cold that we abhor
till they hit they're breaking point
and couldn't take it anymore.
The smoke would disband
our last resort to life
and inferno would ignite
and release the sun's strife.
And then the water claimed
the existence of the land
leaving those last humans
as a regular ?Moses? again.
Till the last died away
and left the earth alone
to forget it's creators
and the mistakes that they had sewn.
The sun began to swell
in size and in heat
to singe the remainder
of this world that once had peaked.
And in the eyes of that bug
from where it had began;
What once was the first
now, was the end.
An inquisition from all:
?Who or what was last??
Was it the essence
of the world that long since passed?
?Who or what was first??
A sudden burst of black
that never could be searched?
A flash of light, of afterglow,
casts twisting light as white as snow.
Dust could gather, or mix if they'd rather,
and the illumination flows.
