Henry IV of germany instates his cousin as bishop of
Milan. The pope is infuriated; he alone instates the
authority. Henrys excommunication has destroyed any
ties to the papacy. He's now denounced as king. A new
position's up for grabs. The countess of Canossa
houses the pope on his way. Henry arrived unwanted. "I
