Lyrics to East Coast Girl And A West Coast Guy
When Meg was little her parents moved the family to Delaware
They wanted a location with a good education
And the weather was always fair
15 years after she moved to New Hampshire
Searching for her first home
She bought one that wasn't like the ones in the city
But she knew it was her own
Well, she could still enjoy the sunrise
She could wake up every morning
And just know she was where she belonged
And although this may come as a surprise
I don't yet, that's why I wrote this song
Well, Jake started life in the worst of conditions
Where nothing was good or the way it should be
Not even the fishing
At the age of 9 he regained some lost time
Went to a nice foster family
They raised him along the pacific shoreline
Planning to live his whole life in the city
Well, he got off to a rocky start
But soon found everything he needed
And just know he was where he belonged
But I have never felt like I was a part
Of anything yet, so I wrote this song
And this is where I come in...
So, I met Jake at camp while in high school
And my mother was good friends with Meg's mom
Neither of them had ever been that cool
And they didn't feel like they belonged
So, I called them together for a conference in Kansas
I figured they could meet somewhere inbetween
And this country girl met this city boy
And they hit it off, if you know what I mean
Now they were both a part of something
They had found everything they needed
And for the first time they both belonged
Well, until this happens to me
I guess I'll just keep writing songs
An east coast girl meets a west coast guy
And they found each other in each other's eyes
Well, maybe I've finally found myself
Through the eyes of someone else
I'm finally a part of something
I'm the puzzle and your the missing piece
Yeah, I'm the puzzle and your the missing piece
They wanted a location with a good education
And the weather was always fair
15 years after she moved to New Hampshire
Searching for her first home
She bought one that wasn't like the ones in the city
But she knew it was her own
Well, she could still enjoy the sunrise
She could wake up every morning
And just know she was where she belonged
And although this may come as a surprise
