Lyrics to Every Stroke
Of all the tracks on my forth-coming album, ‘Every Stroke’ is very close to my heart. After my Granddad passed a few years ago I found myself processing my grief by writing about our shared love of the water.

As a child I would stay at my Grandparents house that overlooked Titahi Bay. Granddad went swimming religiously every morning and would take me along too.
lyrics
I know you’re
Swimming up there daily
Every stroke, every stroke, ev-er-y stroke
I’ll be swimming down here daily
Every stroke

Let’s go let’s go
Around the lazy
River again
I’m just I’m just
A water baby
Working up to the fast lane

Titahi Bay won’t be the same
Titahi Bay won’t be the same
Titahi Bay won’t be the same
Even the waves whisper your name

I know you’re
Swimming up there daily
Every stroke, every stroke, ev-er-y stroke
I’ll be swimming down here daily
Every stroke

Chlorine
The sweet, sweet smell of you
I know, I know, I know it hurt but
I’m sure he let you right through

You deserve a lane all your own
Up there you know my name

You deserve a lane all your own
Up there you know my name again

I know you’re
Swimming up there daily
Every stroke, every stroke, ev-er-y stroke
Thoughts of ya
Start our poor hearts aching
Every stroke
Every stroke, every stroke

Carol I’ll sing for you
