Lyrics to Psalm 2
Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
False kings of the earth have set themselves, and the rulers take counsel
together, against the LORD and against the anointed, saying,
Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away the cords from us.
Now he that sitteth in his heaven shall laugh: the LORD shall have them in
derision.
And then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore
displeasure.
Yet have I set my kings upon the hills of Zion.
I will declare it unto thee, the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my son,
this day have I begotten thee.
Ask of me and I shall give thee thy inheritance and the uttermost parts of
the earth for thy possession.
Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces
like a potter's vessel.
Be wise therefore oh ye kings: inherit, ye judges of the earth.
Serve the LORD with fear, rejoice with trembling.
Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore
displeasure.
Yet have I said unto my kings upon the holy hills of Zion,
I will now declare it, o Lord, Isaac said unto me, my son, thou art my son
this day have I begotten thee.
Ask of me and I shall give thee thy inheritance and the uttermost parts of
the earth for thy possession, ...the uttermost parts of the earth for thy
possession, yea.
Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
False kings of the earth have set themselves, and the rulers take counsel
together, against the LORD and against the anointed, saying,
Come, let us break their bands asunder, and cast away the cords from us.
Now he that sitteth in his heaven shall laugh: the LORD shall have them in
derision
And vex them in his sore displeasure.
The Lord said unto me, Thou son, Thou art my son, for I have begotten thee
now.
Ask of me and I shall give thee thy inheritance and the uttermost parts of
the earth for thy possession.
Jah shalt break them with a rod of iron; Jah shalt dash them away like a
potter's vessel, I will say.
Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away the cords from us.
He that sitteth in his heaven shall laugh: the LORD shall have them in
derision.
And then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore
displeasure.
Yet have I said unto my kings upon the holy hill of Zion,
I will now declare it unto thee, the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my

Ask of me and I shall give thee thy inheritance and the uttermost parts of
the earth for thy possession.
Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces
like a potter's vessel, I will say.
Thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel, I will tell you,
yeah.
So be wise therefore ye, instructed judges of the earth, yeah.
Serve the LORD with fear, rejoice with trembling.
False kings of the earth have set themselves, and the rulers take counsel
together, against the LORD and against the anointed, saying,
Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away the cords from us.
